And all this isn't saying Izotope makes bad products, that's simply not true either. I don't get along with the compressor, but the saturation and limiter are very nice indeed. Totally agree that the Maschine stock plug-ins aren't to be ignored either. That's why I even with this sale, I'd still rather pay the small premium for Fabfilter over Ozone. Only Pro-L2 adds latency so you can't use it on sounds and groups in Maschine, but it's very efficient.for a mastering grade limiter that is. You can use it as a limiter and de-esser if you want. With all the side chain options, different modes and everything it does everything. Pro-C works just as well as a track compressor as a super transparent mastering compressor. In zero latency (default) the CPU hit is neglible.

Pro-Q is the best mixing EQ I know, but has linear phase mode you can use for mastering. But it isn't because you can use them for anything. With fabfilter you just get 4 effects, which seems worse value. one for mixing, one for mastering, one for vocals pff… But what's value? You're just doubling, tripling, quadrupling up on more eq's, compressors, exciters, limiters that are functionally almost the same. An obviously inflated price meant to steer you towards the bigger bundles because 'value'. Ozone Advanced is 500 dollar when it's not on sale. you can't 'play into' them.įabfilter mastering bundle is about 380 if you include the referral discount. the moment you add one to your master, your Maschine becomes useless as a controller. These plugins aren't designed to use in a real time project.

you might want to consider something simpler? If you just want to add some LOUD to your master bus in Maschine though.

There's even a really good free one in Limiter No6, which is good enough for professional mastering engineers to recommend it. There's a cheap option in Toneboosters Barricade, which isn't quite as good as the big boys, but only a fraction of the cost and still a very good, very versatile limiter that will get the job done. DMG stuff is generally very good, can't go wrong there. That's probably the most advanced one out there. There's other options in that segment as well. Don't buy any limiter before you tried it. All the settings are actually really well thought out and actually useful. In Pro-L2 they actually work like a 'character' setting. but in Ozone they're more like a quality setting, you just pick the highest version that you can get away with. It also has multiple algorhythms, like Ozone. like, really good! You can get it to distort, but you really have to try. It seems to hold up better with extreme settings. interfacewise? Too! I think it sounds brittle and harsh in anything but the most taxing algorhythms, even there. I'm actually selling my Izotope bundle (neutron 1, ozone 7, etc) for cheap if you're interested (I'm so great at sales!!) Click to expand.Disclaimer: what you're about to read is an OPINION!
